This is the simulcast event that happens in Palm Springs at the same time that the main TED event takes place in Long Beach. I chose to focus mostly on imPulse, the heartbeat sharing devices that Christian and I built and redesigned over the past two years. It is an artistic exploration of intimacy through mediated space, seeking a [...] Project Build a multi-touch display for an exhibit piece that tracks people’s finger movements across a surface and translates them into a projected visuals. This project is simpler than your usual multi-touch surfaces, as the projection is not onto the surface, but set towards the exhibit in front of the user. I chose to experiment with [...] A beautiful project by Jiyeon Song of the Media Design Program, Art Center College of Design. Check out the video here I was impressed by its simplicity, yet powerful message. It is a patent pending method, where Jiyeon takes advantage of the changing angle of sunlight to project different messages within the pavilion throughout the day. Just got back from the Art Center College of Design end of semester show, extremely impressed and inspired. These kids do an amazing job setting up the space, really thinking about the information design and the viewer experience in the space.
